First of all, I don't use it in the kitchen. I use them as mats for our swings. I wanted something soft for child safety, but basically something to prevent the ruts and mud puddles that are so common under swing sets. We've had them for a few years now and they're doing a great job. They have withstood the wear and tear of children playing and lawn maintenance. The best part is that the grass has filled the holes and you can no longer see the mats. This is a great solution for us.
