Absolutely necessary when installing multiple amplifiers! Have successfully used this PAC interface 3 times with no problems. Working 4. I'm a professional installer with over 25 years experience in the industry and PAC has always been a great source for quality interface products. I don't know what the other reviews did to bring the noise in, I can only assume they mistuned the aftermarket amps. The treble booster set to maximum always introduces noise. This interface produces a high voltage output of at least 4 volts. If the tweeter amp is of decent quality, it should add little or no gain. Remember that amplifier gain is not an output control. It is only intended for adjusting input voltages. Great product, thanks again PAC.
