Good entry test.: Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

I am anything but a professional chef. I have two smokers and a charcoal grill in my backyard and use them about 4 times a week depending on my schedule and the weather. It was clear to me early on that you really need a good thermometer with a probe. Whether it's measuring the resistance of meat with a probe or determining the temperature. What I like about this dipstick outweighs the cons. It's very small and light, has a small diameter probe (doesn't leave gaping holes in the flesh) and is easy to read in any light. The only thing I don't like is that it seems to be an automatic shutdown. it's going too fast. Just to add to the slight annoyance, the only way to turn it back on as far as I can tell is to press the hold button or fold and open the probe. Not the end of the world. But I would prefer a minute or two before it shuts down due to inactivity. It's more affordable than other sensors, so I think it's good for newbies who don't want to take out a second mortgage to check their meat temp.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
