I bought these socks for my 5 year old daughter who has a sensory processing disorder. I had no idea how they would happen and if they would be warm enough. My daughter doesn't have a mind-body connection, so she can't tell if she's getting too cold or too hot. She almost got frostbite because she didn't know the snow was too cold. These socks solved the problem and I am very grateful! Your feet stayed nice and warm in these socks, whether they were snowshoes, rubber boots or hiking boots. I think they are very soft for wool, very good thickness and quality. Note that they do start to curl after washing, but that wasn't a problem for us. I have no complaints about these socks and they protect my daughter. i am a happy mom
