I like the fluffy hard down pillow. Is always. You know when you feel like it's the real deal. If you can count your fingers under your pillow, you may need to move on. This filter is like a bad down pillow. At first glance I could see that this filter is slightly smaller than the Cuisinart OEM filter. The real proof of the pudding's existence was in taking it out of the packaging and feeling it. The filters are very thin as they only contain about 3/4 the filter media you get with a Cuisinart filter which easily rolls up in a loose pouch. It feels like an old beer sack but doesn't have the strength I've come to expect from my water filters. Hence the thin pillow analogy. I don't see that they filter much water. More like straining because the water will flow through. Made cheap. and soaking before use makes one wonder if they are safe to use. I will not order again. I feel a little taken. Many of these other reviewers have never owned an OEM water filter or are company employees. just saying
