I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 and needed to secure the tailgate. After receiving the wrong Pop & Lock model twice, I decided to try again (direct from seller). I received the required part and installed it. It went in easily and simply and I used the security bolt as directed. Then I tried to open the tailgate, nothing. The handle only moved on the left side, not the right side. I tried to untorque the security screw (which was very difficult) and the tailgate opened. Not wanting to get the safety bolt back out, I replaced it with a shorter bolt I bought from Home Depot. Still had the same problem. Then I took out my Dremel and started sanding the "edge" that was sticking out from the side of the lock. After a few shaves it finally worked and the tailgate latch now fits nicely when locked and moves freely when unlocked.
