This thing is amazing! To be honest I prefer it to the much more expensive factory LEXUS version for several reasons: 1. I like the real barrier material. It is similar to the screen material used outdoors with high UV protection. I have (2) 90 lb Mastiff mixes and this will definitely protect them. In addition, it is almost invisible. Check out the photo I posted from the back seat looking towards the rear of the car - no horizontal bars and square wires making your cargo area look like a dog cage. I like this feature.2. Easy to assemble and then disassemble. Factory versions, although of high quality, require a significant installation effort and take up a lot of disk space. This ultra-lightweight barrier easily disassembles into three sections under 24 inches and folds like a booklet. I love taking dogs but sometimes I might have to use all the space and fold down the seats. So I plan on keeping the flimsy box it came in for safekeeping. Also, there are no loose parts to lose. I love this feature too! 3. Lightweight but very durable. This barrier is VERY light. I think its structural part is made of aircraft grade alloy or something. Sag is zero, and O put a lot of pressure on it during assembly to ensure the ends of the rods are pinned deep in the sleeves. In addition, the Velcro fasteners and seams on the outer edge are of very high quality. I do not foresee any resolution in the near future.4. Easy to Install - Instead of lots of assorted loose hardware, screws, etc., this barrier has (4) attached straps with a VERY strong, spring-loaded, notched buckle system. Once installed, you can feel the quality of the metal parts and spring mechanism - I was impressed. I have provided some close-up photos of the buckles. In addition, the stitching that connects the straps to the barrier are reinforced and the top buckles have a thick nylon security tab that provides a layer of protection between your car seat/headrest and the metal. This is a VERY thoughtful addition and I'm grateful I don't have to worry about it rubbing against my leather interior and causing damage. The only thing I can add to make the installation even easier is some sort of high quality latch that I can attach to the bottom straps so I don't have to thread them through the weight rings every time I install. I have also provided a photo of him and I will update it after I add pictures.5. Value - This barrier beats the factory Lexus in my opinion and costs less than 1/4. I drive a 2012 Lexus RX450h and I love everything about my car and I take great care of it and I have limited use of everything from the factory except this one. When I first started purchasing this item, price was a consideration, but I was looking for something more aesthetically pleasing, lighter weight, easy to attach and store, and that barrier hit all my outlets with a perfect 10 across the board.
