I have very bad, dry, rough and cracked heels. I've been wearing this pair of socks for about a week and I can already see the difference. There are fewer tears and the heels are much softer. I've religiously applied Gold Bond foot cream and petroleum jelly to my heels and then put on regular socks at night and it didn't help much. With these socks, the gel on the heel really traps moisture. I also like that the toes are open. I don't really like wearing socks at night because my feet get too hot no matter how cold the weather is. I hand washed them to avoid damaging the gel. I didn't see the washing instructions in the box, or maybe I just missed them.
