Review on Enhance Your Pontoon Boat's Protection with Taylor Made Products 55745 Marine Pontoon Boat Cover Support System by Johnathan Hegie

Revainrating 3 out of 5

One size fits all. means it doesn't go particularly well with anything

First off, it's incredibly expensive for what it is. From $15-$20 this could be a good deal but full price with shipping. Well, that's just ridiculous. Now we come to nuts and bolts. MATERIALS Speaking of nuts and bolts, as other reviewers have pointed out, the materials are cheap. All of the hardware is flimsy, making it difficult to get the result you want without major tweaks. Don't expect much in terms of durability. Note, however, that after the improvements and modifications needed to make this system work, you'll need to drain the water as often as possible, as these poles don't carry significant weight. OPERATION Theoretically, that's not bad. a constructive idea, in addition, additional supports are required for load distribution. My previous coating support system was a home made PVC piping system that actually worked incredibly well. Unfortunately while the boat was in the shop over the winter he let the lid sag and then never bothered to deflate the lid so the weight just warped the entire assembly. I wouldn't buy this item but my wife bought it because she thought it would save me the trouble of recreating yet another homemade version. To be honest, once I'm done tweaking this thing, I'll spend less time on another homemade version from scratch. I like the idea with the straps but they need to be modified to keep them from slipping off. Also keep in mind that this is one of those versatile items, which means it doesn't go well with anything. Note that foredeck pontoons are designed to attach to the railing, so you may need another support for the cover on the foredeck. He really needs two more sticks and extra straps. On most pontoons, the X design doesn't have enough lateral support to keep the lid on (unless your pontoon is short enough). VALUE lid supports are not totally useless and would be worth it if the price is like cheap Chinese one. Materials. For $15-20 it would probably be worth using this look as a base kit to mod and build a decent housing system. However, 60-70 dollars for this Chinese junk is unaffordable. Especially when you consider that you'll likely spend more buying additional materials to mod it to make it work. First of all, don't think that you probably have an out-of-the-box solution that's simple and ready to use.
