I'm a woman and I always buy shoes in the boys department, it's just that they always have fancier shoes than women, but if you want to give your girlfriend or wife a pair of shoes, I would recommend yours Size 8 for women I would take big child size 7 or 6 I am size 7 and they are a bit big but still fit well. I looked at the reviews before buying and was skeptical because of the pictures saying indoor/outdoor slippers are not gaming shoes, don't believe the pictures in the reviews, they hold up well and keep your feet warm and comfortable.
