unless my dog was shaped like a sofa cushion

hmm Quality is ok but not great for my dog - deep chest, small waist, not fat at 18lbs. Belt 6 inches. too long, can be repaired with a sewing machine. The overall length is an inch or two short for a 14 inch dogback, but the next size up is too big. The rear leg loops are in the wrong place, which can also be corrected with a sewing machine. In other words, if my dog didn't look like a sofa cushion, this coat wouldn't fit him right off the bat.
