The toy is only good for fun. I tied the strap to the cot because it wasn't long enough. The toy itself is great. Extremely bright lights brighten the room, so not ideal for anything at night. The volume control resets when the toy is turned off (it will say "bye" after 5 minutes of inactivity if set to play mode) and can get very loud as it is just a button that is lightly pressed by a child can be . At one point I used it as a car toy at night and in the back seat the blue/red flashing light in the rearview mirror can almost look like a police car lol. All in all a good toy but as said not ideal for cradle sleepwear when all you want is lights/music.
