It's hard to find a purse that has room for a checkbook. I don't need them often, but I've come across occasions when I've needed them and I've been glad to have them with me. This wallet accepts a check book. It has no spacer to insert between duplicate checks. Has lots of slots for credit cards. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because I would have liked to have had a few bigger spots in the main part of the card, like behind the card slots - a pocket for receipts or things I want to hide so I don't have them too was to unzip the zippered area. after I had already opened the credit card part. In the photo, the valve with the image of a dog is attached to the wallet, there is no space behind it. There is a space behind the elastic band of the pen. If you turn the dog flap over, it also has 2 card slots. There are a total of 14 slots for cards. It's beautiful and I knew what I was getting when I ordered it, just wish there were more hidden spaces in the main compartment. It's big, so pay attention to the dimensions.
