We purchased this item when we were moving my son from his cot to a higher double bed. He loves to roll and rock to sleep and has fallen out of other beds. We've only been using it for a week, but so far we're very happy with it. I immediately opened the packaging and allowed the foam to expand for a few days before using it as I had read reviews of the foam not fully expanding. It's big enough not to roll off the bed and strong enough. The non-slip bottom of the lid works very well. I placed the bumper directly onto the mattress and placed the mattress topper and sheets on top. He didn't move an inch. I cannot comment on the waterproofing properties of the coating or the durability of the product over time, so I will update in the future as the need arises. So far I am very happy with my purchase!
