I bought these to connect to my sofa to avoid kinking the cables when the corner section of the sofa is pressed against the USB charging ports. These rectangular adapters should only be used to connect a USB keyboard and mouse. They hardly allow for the transfer of energy through themselves. If I had a reason to use gussets on keyboards and mice, they would probably work just fine.
