I used Smart Ink 902L/902XL for my HP Office Pro 6978 printer Smart Ink cartridges easily replace HP cartridges. When I replaced HP 902 M, C, and Y ink cartridges with SMART INK 902L (M, C, Y) and Smart Ink 902XL B cartridges, the printer works fine, but the HP printer shows M, C, and Y Smart Ink cartridges as 902XL . instead of the actual 902L. Therefore, the printer assumes that the new Smart Ink C and Y cartridges are almost empty. Interestingly, the HP printer reports that the Smart Ink 902L M color cartridge is full. However, the HP 6978 Print Quality Diagnostic page did not find any problems. The printed color page is good (all 3 tests are good). Even though the HP printer claims that the Smart Ink C and Y values are low, I continue to use Smart Ink cartridges because the print quality is good and the price is much lower than HP ink cartridges. I can check the ink cartridge levels using the HP 6978 printer or HP Smart software.
