Munchkin vs Decor Plus

I have had both this Munchkin diaper pail and Decor Plus for 3 years. We just finished potty training my 3 year old daughter (hooray!) so I thought I should help out some new parents and write a review. Quality: Both products are of good quality and have proven themselves well over the past few years. We tend to take care of our things. My daughter has been at my house all the time for the past 3 years so they have withstood the heavy daily demands. - Smell: Munchkin keeps odors better. We used Muchkin in our laundry room to get rid of poop diapers. The decor we used in my daughter's bedroom featured urine diapers. Having both buckets as a system worked well for us. The big question many parents probably have is, can you go without a munchkin for all diapers in just one baby's room? Answer: maybe. Depends on bedroom ventilation. If it's a tiny room, like our New York apartment, where the windows don't open, I'm sorry to say that I don't think this would be a good enough solution. We smelled a faint smell of poop while using the Munchkin every time we went to the laundry room. However, if you have a large room and open windows frequently, then I think you can probably get away with just a munchkin for fecal and urine diapers. We haven't had any odor issues using Decor Plus to get rid of diapers in my daughter's room - Ease of use: Decor Plus is easier to use - you can just step on the pedal and drop the diaper. The Munchkin requires you to put your hand in the diaper pail while you push it down, then it has a round, jaw-like thing that closes when you let go of your foot โ€” which is why it's much better at keeping odors out. Cost: Refills are the same price for both options. Obviously, Munchkin has a higher initial cost. Hope this helps you decide!
