I bought the WAX610 and 620 in May 2021 only to find out there was no support for DFS channels. In this case, the original firmware was used, as well as the firmware that was current at the time. The Netgear specs list the DFS frequencies supported by the hardware, but they are not offered as an option on the AP's wireless settings configuration page. This is a major hurdle for users in metropolitan areas. This means that when using an 80MHz channel width, only two channels are available: 42 (using 36-48) and 155 (using 149-161). With DFS, 58, 106, 122, and 138 should also be available (again at an 80MHz width), plenty more room to breathe when you're surrounded by multiple APs vying for limited bandwidth. These channels are not available with any channel width, 20/40/80/dynamic, see attached pictures. There has been some speculation that DFS support will appear at some point in the future, but that's a gamble in my opinion. relic is fun enough to support DFS. These shortcomings could be remedied if I had a clean channel to choose from, but unfortunately that's not an option. The hardware got a little warm, but didn't feel too hot to me. Perhaps this could be an issue for people using it in hot environments. No problem with POE+ support. Finally, it's hardware identical to Engenius EWS377, EWS357, ECW230 and ECW220 and is actually made by Senao but with dubious cloud-driven software from Netgear Insight. For now, you don't have to use the cloud management features, but it's clear that Netgear is trying to steer users towards it. Eventually people will get used to it and we won't be able to refuse and we will have to pay them for the privilege of running their own hotspots. Overall we are very disappointed.
