This bracket replaces a 3.5" drive to mount a 2.5" drive. Well, any computer geek knows that the mounting threads on a 2.5" drive are very thin, while on a 3.5" drive the threads are much coarser. But this mount has fine threads where coarse threads are needed to use the same screws to attach the mount. Therefore, the screws that hold the replacement drive in place will not thread into this bracket. Buy the blue Hymeca 2Pack mounting bracket instead - it has the correct coarse threads where they should be. I don't buy these black ones anymore.
