I think $30 or $35 is a good amount for this product. I love the lighting, I think blue purple tones are perfect for the night. I love that after 15 minutes the otter slowly stopped moving I think and then the sound stopped after another 15 minutes. My 2 month old couldn't get enough of the animal movement. She loves looking at him and it puts her to sleep. I also like the choice of sound, although the sound of the sea and the sound of the fan are very similar, these two are my favorites. I think it's a great alternative to cell phones and allows little ones to see their own side of it. Although we like to use it in addition to a mobile phone. Please note that the star projector is stationary, does not rotate and does not change colors. I still like it, but it's not the best feature of this product. I wouldn't buy this just for the projector, but it's still a cool bonus that I think could be improved. We mainly use it to move animals. Use a star projector occasionally though.
