I'm 5ft 9in, 185lbs and ordered XL. You were spot on. I had a pair of canvas pants which I love because it's hot and stuffy here in Florida most of the time and I have trouble finding pants so I can find them for $25 less than any canvas beach pants. They are a very good length - about 33 inches. I don't like ankle length pants that look like high water on a tall girl. These pants with deep pockets are made of a thin, soft and flowing material (mainly linen with viscose) with an elastic waistband and additional drawstring. They are well made and best of all, they have not shrunk! I washed it in cold water on normal cycle, dried it on normal cycle and took it off immediately to avoid ironing. I love these pants! The picture in the ad does not justify them. Much nicer and longer than regular pants of this size.
