Review on ๐Ÿงถ Susan Bates Silvalume Aluminum Crochet Hook Set - Pack of 4 by Heather Shaw

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I found I liked the built in hooks better

I bought these to attach polymer clay handles to, similar to how the Tulip Etimo hooks are designed. I would give them 5 stars "if only" they already had a pen because without a pen I get tired of them. Once I've fitted them with an ergonomic handle, they're amazing! I started using Boye hooks when I first learned how to do it. I then turned to Tulip Etimo, which falls somewhere between Bate/Boye when it comes to tapered and built-in hooks. After getting used to the Etimo hooks, I found I liked the built-in hooks better. So in order to have extra hooks on hand and not break them, I bought several sets of Bates hooks and built my own holds. They polish well and glide well over the yarn. This is an improvement on a few years ago when I bought a Bates hook and it was poorly polished and snagged on the yarn. After this purchase they improved the production and quality of their hooks and I daresay they received complaints about the quality of their hooks. Nice to see they fixed this issue and made improvements. I suspect I will be using my hooks for many years to come.
