I have built/restored several vehicles and I find these dial ratchets to be an extremely valuable tool, especially during restoration. When I'm installing dash components and other interior items, I often hand-tighten the screws because I'm trying to model the interior, and it's quicker than going to the tool box and looking for the right socket. After hand-tightening about 50 bolts, my fingers started to hurt, so I started wearing CLC Pit Crew gloves. The only problem I have with gloves is that you can lose some sense of what you're doing. These ratchets provided the perfect solution for my specific application and I have started using them for more general applications as well. Because they worked so well I bought another set for a friend of mine who keeps telling me how good they are. The only thing I don't like is how big these ratchets really are. The 1/4" ratchet is 1-5/8" in diameter while the 3/8" and 1/2" ratchets are 1-13/16" in diameter. In my opinion they can be significantly smaller so you can use them in some really tight spots.I've seen a few smaller ones at Sears in the past but they were either out of stock or the design changed when I last visited.a set of these useful ratchets.
