Review on πŸ–±οΈ 2020 Newest Melody Design: RGB Gaming Mouse Pad with Waterproof Surface - 31.5"x 11.8", Non-Slip Rubber Base & 14 Light Modes by Brandon Ball

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good rubber for $19, the binding is a bit rough.

I am writing this on the day I received the review Pros: 1. The graphics were pleasing with no errors.2. The size is decent, you can attach a full-size mechanical keyboard and mouse, and leave about a foot of horizontal space for the mouse.3. The surface is smoother than my Corsair MM300 mat, which I believe is because the graphics on this mat are sublimated compared to Corsair's screen-printed or direct-printed material, although I could be wrong. Cons: (This is my first time using mouse pads with a lighted border, but the listing images show a light border around the pad.)1. The lighted border, as you can see in the attached image, is essentially sewn to the original page border with some sort of fishing line. This line is rough, if you move your arms forward or backward it's fine, but if you move side to side you're rubbing your arm and skin and it grabs the hair on my arm and pulls it out . If part of the line is cut off, the entire border will fall off as it unwinds2. The edge isn't nearly as bright as the images would suggest, and there's no brightness adjustment. Even in a dark room, it's not very bright. After seeing the brightness level, I tried plugging it into my phone's charger in an outlet to check the difference, and no change. My computer is using enough power for the maximum allowable brightness.3. The light source is a simply attached box with two RGB LEDs, and the lighted part is just a piece of thick plastic thread surrounding the pad. Light is refracted and scattered by this filament. The gradients are achieved by simply turning on one LED, say red, and another, say blue, and where the light overlaps it turns purple. The problem is that this setting results in uneven lighting. It's boring and doesn't look as clean as it could. The place furthest from the light sources where your mouse will be is the darkest. For $19 I don't think I'll return it. I will pass it on to a younger cousin who doesn't notice and doesn't care about the quality.
