Review on πŸ‘ž RockRooster Trekking Waterproof Backpacking KS735 Men's Work & Safety Shoes by Tony Cole

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good boot with bad cleats

At first glance it seems like a decent boot but you get what you pay for. These boots replace a two year old pair of Lowa Zephyr. These boots don't feel as comfortable as the Lowas but until I wear them for a few months I can't make a good comparison. My biggest concern (which almost resulted in a 3 star rating) is the metal grommets, which are the top three lacing points. The inside edges are sharp and square, making it difficult to tighten the laces tightly; The tighter you tighten the laces, the more the eyelets dig into the laces and the harder it is to tighten them further. In the long term I suspect that this will also lead to increased wear on the laces. I took the time to round off the edges with a small file. It was time consuming and tedious, but it helped a lot. If Rockrooster had opted for an eyelet with a rounded inside, they would have been 5 star boots.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Too boring
