You run the risk of not getting the benefits you expect when you buy these discs. The first one I pulled out of the box was unreliable - it wouldn't read on my desktop even after multiple connection attempts. Luckily, my computer managed to read the remaining 9 and accept a short video file, which was also played by each of them; However, the first failure out of the box had me concerned about the quality of the other drives and whether they would continue to function reliably as I replaced the test video on each with a few non-test video files.
