Review on Merkur Razor Double Edge Razor Blades by Kim Palmer

I've been shaving with a safety razor since my dad taught me to shave. I was using his replacement Gillette safety razor which he bought in 1962 and gave to me in 1980 when I first found out about it. I have read a lot and tried many different brands and I keep coming back to German Wilkinson Double Edge blades. These Merkurs shaved me, but they were noticeably not as sharp as the Wilkinson blades I've used for over 30 years. My razor is adjustable, and no matter what setting I tried, the Merkur blades pulled a lot more in dense vegetation where Wilkinson would shave. I have Mercury Blades ready in case I run out of Wilkinson. They do the job, but not as well as the cheaper Wilkinson.
