Fragile, thin tape self-destructs
I fell in love with the return springs and detents on these 2 tape measures straight away. However, after just 15 minutes of use, the Autolock tape developed a crease that turned into a tear and became unusable. After examining the tape measure myself, I found that the thickness of the metal is only 1/2 the thickness of other tape measures I own. I've never had a tape measure that felt and acted like flimsy paper. These tapes have very low structural integrity and are therefore unusable in my opinion. I was sad that such inferior material was used in such a high quality case and locking mechanism.
