I bought them to tie kayaks (careful not to over tighten or deform) to a trailer which I modified to accommodate them to wear. I don't trust cam mounts to drive for hours at 65-70 mph on the freeway. I particularly like the self-save function. After a drive on the freeway in the rain and a few other rainy days, the gears didn't run as smoothly. That's why they don't get 5 stars, which they would otherwise have. I lubricated the recoil spring and ratchets with lithium spray and they work better than new. I will keep them inside for the winter and use them next year when kayaking season starts again. They fit nice and snug without the extra strap whipping in the wind. The retaining clips on the hooks are also a nice feature.
