Not 100% effective.

So it only works when it's on and if it's right handed then it works fine for my daughter. I'm left handed, I set the settings to left handed and he only reads half the time and even erases sometimes. It also turns off very easily, which is great for battery life, but not so good if you're vigorously taking notes in class.
