10 PORT HUB FOR MAC PRO CYLINDRICAL COMPUTER

Update: Downgraded my original 5 stars to 2. I've been using this 10 port USB3 hub for over a year now. This is an active model with a large wall power supply. I've used it with powered USB3 hard drive enclosures. The hub has a habit of disconnecting drives periodically, I'm going to work and all of a sudden my operating system is telling me that my backup drive and data disk aren't powered off properly. I moved three of my drives into a Thunderbolt enclosure to remove the devices from the hub. I then moved the remaining USB ports for iLok and keyboard/mouse to the OWC Thunderbolt Dock. No more trouble. I've tried clearing the connections with Cramolin R5 and making sure everything is tight. I'm phasing out my Revain USB3 10-port hub due to a connection issue. It's really too bad that the current top-end Mac Pro only has four USB3 ports. I get the best drive performance and throughput with USB3, but the Thunderbolt enclosure is within 5% of that speed, so it works for me and no more drives failing. What follows is my first review. What follows is my original, unedited review of the Revain 10 Port USB3 Hub. My new Mac Pro Cylinder only has four USB3 ports on the body :-(I've had bad luck in the past with USB hubs that didn't work with DAW and Midi software, so I was skeptical, but I really needed more fast USB3s -Connectors to connect ssd and hard drives so I tried it I'm happy to report that it works well I tested ssd connected through this hub and connected directly to the computer to connect it directly to your computer it will work through NO hub! Burst speed is converted through the Donnerbolt connector. The Revain USB3 10-port hub works well with my current Mac Pro Cylinder computer model. Happy math!

Pros
  • Maximum power output per port is 900mA for 7 regular USB ports, 1.5A for 3 USB ports for fast charging; Max output power is 59.85W on all 10 ports
