I needed a new heater for my garage and the original heater lasted a few years. I only have a pilot in Michigan on fire 6 months out of the year. I replaced it with this one and am now changing it every fall for 2 years. I'm not an HVAC guy, just mechanically intelligent. It was only $8 or so and I ordered 2 to have 1 on hand. Maybe it's cheap and there's a reason for it, or maybe I could spend 40-50 on the best and not change it every year. I believe an HVAC specialist would be able to give you better advice, but I'm just sharing my experience. I wouldn't recommend this for a domestic oven, but it was cheaper and only took me a few minutes to swap out.
