Soft. The description says the bristles are black and white, but they are actually all black. The metal body of the brush slipped off the wooden handle when I was unpacking it. I used super glue to stick it back on. Well I guess that's what I get for a powder brush for less than $6. I intend to use it to keep my houseplants clean. Rschunimagu
