I really wanted to enjoy this alarm clock, but there are a few distractions that have altogether caused quite a bit of stress and anxiety. Pros include doing something that gets brighter over time before the alarm goes off. out. Really nice feature and the backlight on it is really good. It can get very bright, enough to light up a room (to the point where it's almost painful to look at when set to the maximum). Most features can be toggled on and off using Alexa or a custom manufacturer's app, but this requires permission to access a third-party "plug-in" and WiFi access to the device. It can set the time automatically from the device you use to set it up, or from the network, or manually via buttons (limited). The downsides include that the only way to get this online is through an app, which you need to install to access the online features. In addition, two of the four alarms are configured using the buttons on the device; while alarms 3 and 4 are ONLY configured via the custom application provided by the manufacturer. (No, you can't set the time for any of these through Alexa, only turning the alarm on and off.) Speaking of buttons, there are a lot of them, and they're all very small and circled. They are all about 1/4" square and white with small indentations for badges (which cannot be seen, felt, or distinguished without manual control). The snooze button is twice the size of normal buttons and is located in the center top, but it's awkward to press and still quite small (about 1" x 1/4"). To turn off the alarm with one button (any alarm), you can press the "Alarm 1" button, which is the 5th button from the top left. Easy to press right? The 'Alarm 1' button also disables all alarms, not just the first one. Although the listing says the alarm can be scheduled by day of the week, that feature seems to work not working at all. I've tried various options for setting the alarm and found that when I set the time each day, the alarm always goes off. The app (and Alexa) can do simple IFTT stuff to turn alarms on and off automatically rule out old ones, but that's quite difficult to set up and relocate the servers running free forever (good luck with that). I asked for help on this feature through the app and the app later said I had an answer, but there was no way to verify the answer. I did not receive an email (checked spam filters, etc.). You also need an email account to "activate" the app with a confirmation code. One of the most difficult aspects of this is that the manual is often confusing and it is not clear how to proceed with the verification code. Buttons, app or Alexa connection. As with many Alexa-enabled devices, this requires a plug-in app, meaning you'll need to give the manufacturer permission to access the system and network you're on. It also means that if (if) the manufacturer decides to disable that server, your service to that device will also be discontinued. While many of this CAN's settings can be programmed with buttons, this is much more difficult and effectively eliminates the use of Alarms 3 and 4, which (due to the lack of buttons to access them) are not programmable and cannot be activated. /off, except through an application/service. In general a good product. But the reliance on an external server and the lack of clear ways to program some functions via the buttons on the device is a real disappointment. They could easily have come up with a combo to program all 4 alarms using the 15 buttons on the device, but they didn't. You can set all sorts of random things with the buttons (one of which is dedicated to the color it glows), but not Alarms 3 and 4, which you might think are central to the alarm clock.
