Different Ways to Make Quilts

Patchwork Afghans are a collection of eight crocheted quilts that can be knit together using leftover yarn from other projects. The notebook is as tall as a letterhead, but is very thin, so it fits in a large project bag. The booklet contains five motif designs (including two granny square quilts, a beveled square quilt, a triangular quilt and a flip-flop quilt), two one-piece quilts and one stripe quilt. All eight patterns are evaluated. at a basic skill level, and each pattern includes a materials list (including yarn by weight and yardage, hooks, and additional materials) and thickness information. Half of the instructions contain assembly diagrams and half of the instructions contain information on specific stitches or techniques with illustrations. Each pattern also includes a large image of a quilt. Templates are written with US template abbreviations. The booklet ends with a General Instructions section that includes a glossary of pattern abbreviations, a list of symbols and terms, thickness information, a chart of hook sizes, and 2 pages of written and illustrated instructions for techniques and connections used in be used more than one technique. Sample. The last page provides information on the specific yarns used for each project. This booklet is stapled with two staples for easy reading while crocheting. The combination of assembly methods is very diverse, and although all quilts can be patchwork, they can also be made with planned colors. If you have a huge collection of partially used skeins (and who doesn't have that?) and love knit blankets, check out this collection of easy patterns that work with a variety of decor styles. I was loaned a copy of Scrappy Afghans by Leisure Arts. While I accept free evaluation products, I do not accept additional compensation or guarantee positive feedback.
