This part was hard to find. My Jeep didn't have a factory installed tow hitch but did have a wiring harness that I was able to add later. This adapter goes from a USCAR factory 7 pin female adapter to a 4 pin flat adapter. While the packaging doesn't mention installing a Jeep Grand Cherokee, it's definitely the correct adapter. If you want an RV 7 and 4 flat I would suggest the Curt 55774 adapter instead. For the receiver hitch I chose the Curt 13065 which is very easy to install and hides well under the bumper with only the bottom of the receiver popping out . This is where it gets a little more complicated. Be sure to! The factory installed wiring harness doesn't actually work until you reprogram the vehicle's onboard computer. You need to take the car to the dealer and have the VIN updated using the dealer's AHX option. He then uses his wiTECH scanner and activates the function on the on-board computer.
