Last year my Honda mower wouldn't start and I foolishly took it to a mower repair shop. They fixed it in a day (said there was water in the bowl) and for $60 less I was in business for mowing season. This year the mower started on the first pull, but when idling it jerked and ran erratically. This time I went to YouTube, researched "honda mower jumps" and found some videos about the problem and how to fix it. The one that made the most sense to me said the carb jets were clogged and needed cleaning with carb cleaner spray and two different sized wires, which I don't have. It then occurred to me to look for a new carburetor and I found and bought one for a fraction of the cost of repairs. Well in the video it looks like changing the carburetor is a lot easier than it used to be, but next time I have to do it it will be easier. Took me about 30 minutes to disassemble and install a new carburetor. The lawnmower starts with the first pull and idles quietly. And it works much harder when mowing than before. Not only did this solve the problem, it also saved me from having to load the mower into the car, take it to the workshop and pick it up again. I am a happy buyer and will buy again if the need arises.
