Review on ๐Ÿถ Super Beast 40ft Tie Out by Boss Pet Products by Keisha Wright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fairly good - about 3000 hours of use

I've used the cheaper and less durable version a few times and was disappointed that the seal would tear and the inner wire would break over time. I only have about 4 months of the light version of this tie. I bought this hoping for better results - and I got them! The coating is thicker and more durable. My dog's activity has not changed. but while the lighter tie often tangled, this one never did. The clip never gets stuck or binds (nothing speaks of frustration like removing a stuck clip from an agitated dog's collar) and nothing has rusted in 6 months of use. Very happy with this tie. Someone else commented that the clasp for the connection is tighter than usual. That. You need to pull the mechanism out of the clasp, hook it onto the collar, and then release the mechanism. This makes it a little easier to accidentally "miss" the ring on the collar, and it's done with two hands. BUT. somehow my dog was able to slip out of the more typical mechanism of the cheaper version of this tie but never slipped out. Update: After 14 months it needs to be replaced. The coating becomes less flexible and tears, the leash begins to tangle, causing the dog to become attached to the house. I live in California where it's not very humid, but the fixed end is rusty. My dog uses it about 50 hours a week which is about 3000 hours of use in a year. However, it's still a far cry from the cheaper version I tried and offers better value for money. Even at the end of its life it didn't break.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
