Review on πŸ”„ Revolutionize Disc Repair with the Digital Innovations SkipDr DVD and CD Motorized Disc Repair System by Charles You

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Worked in the end

I bought this to try and fix an XBOX 360 NCAA Football 14 disc that has probably stopped working due to scratches etc. Replacement discs are around $150 so I thought I'd give this repairer a go. Give it a try before you spend $150 on another used drive. The device itself was well packaged and the instructions were fairly simple. I wet the disc sufficiently (and re-wet in the car) and let it go through about 3 revolutions, maybe a little more than suggested. I then dried it with a blue cloth and buffed it gently but not too aggressively with a white square. I put it in the XBOX 360, and it didn't recognize the hard drive at all. Disappointing. I packed the machine to go back to Revain but then thought I'd try again (again to avoid paying someone $150). I inspected the drive and it seemed to me, maybe I'm wrong, that he didn't repair to the edges of the drive. So I repeated the process this time too, but I pressed down on the wheel a little to make sure the scrubbing wheel was actually touching the outside edges. I dried the disc and this time polished the white square much harder than the first time, working radially as suggested. Then I removed all the lint and stuff. After that second success, the disc worked and my son was able to load it onto his 360 and play the game as intended. So, as described above, it worked. that he did not fully repair to the edge of the disc.
