The all-metal construction of this knife makes it a safe choice when you need a chef's knife for very hot food with the risk of heat conduction. The robust construction ensures comfortable handling. I haven't managed to get the knife dirty or rusty in the three weeks I've been using it. The blade is slightly heavier and thicker than a normal chef's knife. This makes clear cuts easier, but requires more practice. It was sharp instantly and didn't need further sharpening or honing to work. The metal handle isn't for everyone, it's slippery when wet, but the grip is comfortable to use.
