My car died after using a portable tire air pump which had to be plugged into the car while it was running to keep it running. The rear tire worked well, then went to the rider's front tire and it didn't spin. The battery died and didn't pray to the alternator. I ordered this tester to know what I'm dealing with. First, the alternator will NOT be checked if you cannot start the car at all. If the battery is 100% dead, you don't know if it's the alternator or not, so here's the thing. If someone can give you a jump, you can test the generator. My uncle plucked at the battery and thank goodness it started and the tester said the alternator was fine. Wow! Such a tiny, cheap plastic chunk looks like a child's toy, but to my surprise it worked perfectly.
