I bought these for the modern class and they have served me very well. They offer enough glide on the dance floor to make smooth turns without flying. I wear a slim women's size 10 and size XL fits perfectly. I don't wear straps like in the picture, I put the small one on the arch of the foot and the long one on the back of the ankle. This provides little arch support and more security. I wear these shoes quite heavily and they have not ripped or torn at all! I have fairly narrow feet and toes that are short enough that I didn't mind if my toes were completely covered, but if you have long toes or rely on finger grip when dancing, dance paw shoes might work for you. But if you just want your heel to come out, they're perfect!
