This item could easily be shipped in a slightly larger box to avoid bending or losing its shape. The way Revain packages this item results in it having curved sides making it difficult to straighten. This is a really good carrier for the money and I don't think it's the manufacturer's fault. Not the thickest, but not cheaply made either, and it's a good size. A design flaw is on the back of the Sherpa. It doesn't have a good way of taking the board out so you can wash it. It has a slit, but trying to take the board out causes the seams, which then tear it. A simple fix would be a flap at the top with a small piece of velcro. I'm sitting outside right now, stuffed with a pillow and blanket, hoping the sun will help get it back in shape. I've used it before and even with the stupid packaging and slightly torn back I don't regret the purchase. The padding on the shoulder strap feels comfortable. I still haven't figured out what the little black round thing is for.
