So my husband and I were trying to figure out how we could bring natural light into the bathroom but still maintain privacy without being able to replace/buy a new frosted glass window and remove those pesky blinds. At first I thought this could be our solution, a simple design, not too flashy and cheaper than a new window. Theoretically yes, practically no. If your bathroom is bright, you can see everything from the outside. Our shower is right by the window, so if you step outside and only see that chain on the window, you'll give your neighbors a show. I stood outside looking out the window and I could see my husband (fully dressed haha) very clearly in the bathroom standing to check it out. It works well during the day because it's light outside and you can't really see into our bathroom through this circuit, but you might as well open the window at night. It's not personal at all, and while we can pull the blinds down at night, the whole point was that we could take the blinds off the window and not have to try and remember to open or close the blinds all the time. So no, it doesn't work as intended, it just gives the illusion of privacy but doesn't provide privacy.
