This Reecom weather radio I bought for my daughter in 2011 was instrumental in what I believe saved the lives of her entire family. On May 10, 2015, their home in Delmont, South Dakota was directly hit and destroyed by an EF-2 tornado. Just before the town sirens went off, the weather radio went off, giving them the few extra seconds it took them to get down to their basement. Despite being injured and beaten and stuck in the basement demanding rescue, they are fine now. For this reason I am ordering 2 more 1650 radios, one to replace one I lost in a storm and one for my other daughter. While the setup may seem daunting, it's worth it. Well done ReCom.
