I don't know how many times I've dropped remotes on the floor only to see them break. They then become tape monster remotes held together with duct tape, duct tape, or some other type that keeps the color and somehow matches it. This makes it unnecessary as I have now dropped my Sheild off the armrest of a sofa or off the headrest of a chair numerous times and have not seen a scratch on it at all. It just lands with a thud and wears just as well. The added glow-in-the-dark feature also helps when watching movies late at night, and I have to find it. That little glow makes a big difference in a dark room. I love this product and wish I could get them for every remote I own.
