Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (Russian)

My favorite blade in both my razor and my safety razor. Here is the ranking of the blades I've tried so far. #1. Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (Russian). Super smooth, no irritation and sharp enough to cut on the first pass or two. Gives enough "feedback" to let you know where your stubble needs more attention and where you may be missing out. Not many blades are that intuitive. The only thing that confuses me is the amount of glue used on the packaging, it leaves you fiddling with the blade in your hand more than you would like. Lasts about 4 shaves. My personal favorite is #2. Treet (orange-blue label). Smoothness similar to 7 hours but less sharp, requires multiple passes. Cheaper and less frills. Lasts about 3-4 shaves. CLOSE second place. Almost a toss, but Gillette takes it. #3 Feather Hi Stainless. The sharpest blades, no question, but a bit annoying depending on the technique and no room for error. Cuts clean from the first pass. Only use with a thick beard! For a moderate beard like mine, it's just too edgy and expensive to justify. Lasts 4 shaves. #4 Astra (both types). It turned out that they are moderately sharp and do not irritate the skin at all. Not as spicy as Treet/Gillette. It takes some effort to shave a baby's butt thoroughly, but if you're not too picky, they'll get the job done. Lasts 2-3 shaves #5 Shark Super Stainless. Excellent medium patch for hotness and lack of irritation. A GREAT beginner blade that is very forgiving of poor technique and gets the job done. Too bad they don't last long without tugging/pulling. 2 shaves max#6 Big Ben (blue box). Another middle road, just not as good as Shark (both by LORD). Noticed some irritation due to its slightly less than sharp edge. Stick with the shark, it's about the same price and you get a better shave. Lasts 2 shaves #7 Derby. No irritation and not hard at all. He didn't care a bit. Had to replace blade while shaving as it just stopped cutting! Bad batch maybe? If you don't have a lot of beard I think this will work, but why not try something better? Lasts NO shaving: P#8 Trig (made by Treet). Another"Derby clone". Unassuming, lackluster performance. #9 LORD Super Chrome. Looks like Derby, doesn't cut very well, tarnishes quickly. You could spend 30 minutes on it and probably get the job done, but why bother? Threw it while shaving, boo! #10 MR Platinum. I use Proraso Preshave and Proaso Shaving Soap before every shave. It didn't work this time. This one ruined my face BADLY. First 1/4 inch near the side burn and I had a 1 inch wound on my face (didn't notice until I washed the soap off). The next day my face was on fire, severe razor burn (just close shaving, mind you). The sharpness was okay, right at 7 o'clock, but it felt like the blade was almost serrated! STAY AWAY!
