I bought this camera to experiment with at work - I'm a professional cinematographer and I'm always looking for new and interesting ways to move the camera. Extreme maneuverability at high speed, although the picture does not look like earthquake footage, has always been elusive. So far this camera has shown promise. It certainly won't replace more expensive professional camera systems and lenses, but it excels at allowing you to move your camera in ways and places that just couldn't get any bigger. Users may find the built-in screen surprisingly small - about the size of a postage stamp. It serves as both a viewfinder and a touchscreen (when the phone is not connected) to control the device. To be honest I don't know what DJI could have done. The size of the overall system only allows a certain screen size. I really think they did a good job of making menu navigation easy enough given the small size. One design element I would like to improve is the phone jack. It's interchangeable depending on the phone, but when installed it's a fixed connector that sticks out of the side of the device. You then switch your phone to landscape mode and plug the Osmo into the bottom of your phone. Your phone gives you access to settings that you can't access from the device alone, but that makes the device pretty unwieldy now. These connectors were never designed to support weight. So when you connect your phone to the Osmo, you have to hold the system with both hands at all times. If you let go of a hand, the Osmo will either fall off the bottom of your phone or your phone will fall off your Osmo - depending on which one you were holding. Have since bought and wish it just included, a long flexible extension cord so you can keep your phone separate, put it in your pocket, backpack or whatever. I have to say that you can connect the phone, make the settings you want, and then disconnect it and the settings will be saved. It's just a bit of a tedious process, especially for someone like me in a demanding environment. Conclusion: For the price, design, performance and functionality are unbeatable.
