- This is NOT an epilator/tweezers, it just cuts/trims the hair, doesn't pull it from the root. I was hoping it might be a magical unicorn that finally plucks hair painlessly, but it basically does what a razor does. Which works for me as I haven't found an epilator yet that doesn't make me bleed and cry. And it has two key advantages over a straight razor: precision and safety. Precision because the tiny head allows you to maneuver more efficiently and see what you're doing. Safety because even after trying it from many different angles and on different parts of my body I didn't even manage to cut myself which is quite an achievement considering my track record with razors and makes me think it's safer. I've tried it on different parts of the body and these were my results, YMMV: Eyebrows (long thick hair on dry skin): works beautifully, it's very easy to find an angle that eliminates unwanted hair at the edges for an accurate shape , but BEWARE , one arm and you've lost part of your brow - cheeks/chin/upper lip (very, very fine hairs with a few thick rough ones): Works great too, but to pluck you have to glue weirdly stubborn rough hairs here and there there, but definitely better than using a razor like I've done so far. - Armpits and shins (short, thick, coarse hair): NOT a fan, the head is definitely designed for eyebrows and too small to deal with the armpits and the thicker, coarser hair that grows there. Even though I managed to cut my hair to one shade for 4 hours, the hair just got stuck everywhere - much better in the shower with a regular razor where it's done in a few strokes and the water washes it all away. I'm taking a chance and assume the same goes for pubic hair, although I plan on my partner using this to get much finer back hair that a regular razor can't maneuver. Sorry for the TMI but I can say this is great for it. - Underarms and thighs (very fine, long hair): I never shave my underarms or thighs as the hair is thin and light enough to blend into the skin and I am paranoid about shaving because it grows back thicker and darker, but I did a small section to see how it works and it handles very thin long hair with ease. If I were a hand razor I would definitely consider using this for it It might still be more efficient to use a regular sized razor but it would definitely work in a pinch for a missed spot or two afterwards. - Battery life: no idea, used it for the first time today but will update this review later to include it. Note that it does NOT come with a battery, which was a downside for me as I don't usually have one at home, but the upside is that it offers faster and cheaper shipping. Conclusion: Overall I'm happy with the device and would recommend it, plus it's well packaged in a cute box and the tiny size makes it attractive, super portable and easy to store (which is a plus for a minimalist in a tiny apartment, who refuses to store bulky equipment). The instruction paper was not very clear, but also a bit unnecessary as it is already assembled and quite easy to use. So far the customer service has been top notch so overall no real complaints although it will be interesting to see how it holds up over time as the small size and plastic head make it a bit flimsy but since then it has been working fine, dem may one does not contradict. I will update this review if anything changes. TL; DR: Ideal for fine trimming (NOT plucking) eyebrows, facial, underarm and thigh hair, not for thicker leg/armpit/pubic hair. would recommend.
