I invested in fully clad stainless steel cookware because I needed quality cookware that would do the job and last a long time. I've had the set for over a year and a half now. I use a ceramic hob and an induction hob. I cook a lot of steaks. The pans heat up well and give the steak I cook in them a sizzling brown finish. The pot is easier to clean than wrought iron, but I have stains on the surface and will call in a bartender friend to see if I can get the shine back. I'm sure pans will last, shiny or not, but they're not perfect in that regard. Another disappointing factor was the "compact" set with two very small pots. The regular set has a deep pot, which is much more convenient for things like lobster or corn on the cob, kale, or soups where you need a deep pot.
